Gym Coaching

Starting strength training at the gym can be intimidating.

Lots of equipment. Heavy weights. Busy atmosphere.

I’ll meet you at your gym to teach you compound movements that will build a strong foundation for your regular workouts. I’ll also support you in getting comfortable with the gym environment and feeling confident as you begin your training.

No judgement and no pressure – just friendly guidance to build your confidence and technique.

We’ll be following a program of compound movements using a strength building pattern of 5 sets and 5 repetitions of each movement. Each session usually takes around 90 minutes to complete.

Compound movements we’ll use:

  • Squat – Start with a correct stance, achieve proper depth, and stay tight through the lift
  • Deadlift – Set up correctly and complete the lift with safe technique
  • Bench Press – Learn leg drive, keeping tight, and develop shoulder stability and pressing power
  • Overhead Press – Build functional overhead shoulder strength and mobility
  • Barbell Row – Extra work to build your back and improve posture

I’ll also share links and resources I’ve used to get started in the gym. Everything I’ll teach you draws on expert knowledge and understanding.

My Experience:

  • Started barbell training in 2019
  • Progressed from ground zero – empty barbell training
  • Trained consistently three times a week
  • Added more mobility movements (yoga) mid 2024
